Bio

Cynthia Vaicunas currently lives and works in Pacifica, CA, having moved from Chicago, Illinois where she received her MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

She has taken part in an international residency in Bulgaria at the Krug Movement Association of Artists, where she participated in two shows. She has also taken a group of artists to the South of France for a Residency at Matisse's former home and Studio, Villa le Réve, and she lived and showed in France for a number of years. She has been on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Women's Caucus for Art, the Chicago Artist's Coalition and Chicago’s ARC Gallery where she exhibited in several solo shows, and was also affiliated with Dialogue Chicago. Cynthia has taught numerous painting courses at art institutions in Chicago and the midwest area., and currently teaches a course “Painting Dialogue and Critique” as an international Zoom class .
